Under the spell of the Moon that Lorca both worshipped and feared, «LUNA» takes shape: a theatrical dance piece celebrating the poet’s intimate bond with the night satellite and the dark dance of death.
We explore Lorca’s obsession with the Moon, personifying her as the dancer of death in a seductive, impassioned dance that draws to itself the deepest and most tragic of stories. From the verses of «Romance de la luna, luna» to the poet’s many reflections, the Moon is witness and accomplice to his passions and his fears.
On this journey through lunar mysteries you will be immersed in the music of Falla and Granados, accompanied by José Antonio González reciting Lorca’s prose, the captivating voice of Marta Bolaños and the flamenco dance of Rocío Pozo alongside Silvia Herrerías and Rocío Mora. The piano of Oliver Curbelo, the guitar of Yuniel Rascón and the percussion of Samuel Medina create the perfect atmosphere to accompany the poet in his nocturnal lament.
A sensory journey in which dance, music and prose intertwine to bring the genius’s obsession with the Moon to life. An impassioned tribute to Federico García Lorca, the moonstruck poet whose fate was tragically sealed on a moonless night.
